The Tobacco Marshal course by ICanCare is designed to educate participants about the dangers of tobacco use, the health risks associated with smoking and chewing tobacco, and strategies for tobacco control and cessation, using the 8R framework. This course covers the risks of tobacco on the body, the addictive nature of nicotine, and the societal impact of tobacco use. Participants will learn how to identify tobacco products, understand tobacco industry marketing tactics, and support individuals in quitting tobacco use. By completing this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to talk the language of tobacco and be able to promote tobacco-free lifestyles, organize and drive health screenings and other mass campaigns; act as quit buddy to tobacco users in their journey to quit, and lead tobacco control in the society.

  Learn about tobacco, its history, how to recognize various tobacco products and understand their harmful effects on health.

  Learn the short term and long term damages of tobacco use on the body, bystanders and the environment

  Understand how quitting helps and be able to preach and promote tobacco cessation in the community
• Roadblocks
  Understand the addiction cycle, what causes addiction and what are the challenges of quitting
• Recognize
  To be able to recognize and identify the young tobacco users and address them relevantly to not get into the habit. Recognize the late stage harms that can lead to chronic diseases and mmotivate tobacco user to quit successfully.
• Respond
  Learn how to communicate with both tobacco users and non users in a non judgemental way
• Refer
  Help and support the tobacco users to quit successfully by guiding them to the right resource centre for quitting
• Rules & Responsibilities
  Learn the various tobacco control policies of the country and your responsibility to advocate against tobacco use, engaging community with innovative campaigns, and lot more.
